Actress and singer Jopay Paguia opened up about the emotional and spiritual journey that led to her return to the SexBomb Girls after years of hesitation rooted in her religious beliefs.

During an interview with Boy Abunda, she reflected on leaving the group twice before ultimately deciding to come back.

“Siguro nakadalawang alis yata ako. Una, umalis, pero bumalik. Tapos, nung last, nung na engage ako, umalis ulit ako,” she recalled.

Her second departure coincided with deep involvement in church ministry, which she initially believed was her true calling.

“Nainvolve kasi ako sa church parang ang calling ko noon is mag serve sa church talaga,” she explained.

She later realized that dancing should not automatically be judged negatively within a faith context.

“Hindi porke’t dancer ka, mananayaw ka, ijujudge ka,” she said.

Lingering doubts pushed her to seek spiritual clarity.

“Kinausap ko yung pastor ko, sabi ko magiging masamang tao ba ako pag bumalik ako?” she shared.

Her pastor responded by reminding her that her talents were gifts meant to be used with purpose.

Still searching for certainty, Paguia prayed for a decisive sign.

“Pinag pray ko yun. Sabi ko kay Lord bigyan mo ako ng sign kung babalik ako sa grupo ko,” she said.

The answer came when she saw children joyfully dancing to the group’s hit song, The Spageti Song.

That moment convinced her that returning was part of her path. Since then, Paguia has remained with the SexBomb Girls, embracing both her faith and her passion for performing.
