SexBomb member Sugar Mercado has broken her silence regarding the ongoing controversy sparked by Alvin Aragon's remarks about the group. In a video posted on Facebook, Sugar admitted that she initially hesitated to comment but felt compelled to speak after praying about the situation.

"Gusto ko na sanang hindi magpahayag ng komento pero kailangan, pinag-pray ko 'to kanina, and parang sinasabi sa akin na kailangan kong sabihin yung tungkol sa pahayag ni Kuya Alvin, asawa ni Ate Izzy. Una sa lahat, for me bilang asawa, siguro yung emosyon lang niya is nangingibabaw," she said in the now-viral video that raked up 300k views.

Addressing the statements made by Alvin, the husband of former member Izzy Trazona, Sugar offered a compassionate perspective, one that was greatly praised by many of her followers.

"Hindi ko rin po masisisi si Kuya [Alvin] kasi yung emosyon niya, dahil siguro ang daming bashing dahil hindi po nauunawaan kung saan nanggagaling, pero kung makikita niyo po, ang daming hindi magagandang salita na natatanggap si Ate Izzy."

Sugar also took the opportunity to clarify her recent participation in the group’s reunion, which she now refers to as "Super Blessed." She emphasized that their return to a major stage like the Mall of Asia Arena after 20 years was a gift from God, not just their own doing.

She also shared that her fellow members, led by Rochelle Pangilinan, were very accommodating of her requests regarding her costume and performance, allowing her to stay true to herself and her faith.

"Kung nakita niyo po yung suot ko, tapos hindi pa rin po maaalis yung pagiging komedyante ko, kasi yun po talaga ako, and kung makikita niyo po lahat nung word sa damit namin, wala ako dun sa sayaw and yung name din po nung costume ko, wala rin po kasi yun po yung pinakiusap ko kina Ate Rochelle, and walang isang salita ay um-oo sila."

In closing, Sugar urged the public to stop the negativity and respect each other's differences.

"Pag-pray na lang po natin ang lahat, wag na po tayong manghusga, iba iba po tayo ng pananampalataya at paniniwala."

The gathering showed the members and their husbands who were seen smiling and posing together in high spirits. The post comes amid the group's successful reunion concerts which has been met with much warmth from their fans. Netizens and fans were delighted to see the enduring friendship among the dancers, noting that their 'sisterhood' remains strong through the years.

Meanwhile, Izzy Trazona recently posted on Instagram a screenshot of her final conversation with her child. Izzy admitted that she did not want to make the conversation public, but felt compelled to do so because of netizens. In their messages, the love and support between mother and child can be seen. The former SexBomb member also appealed to the public not to judge, especially when they do not know the truth.
