Speaking honestly during a media conference, the seasoned actor shared heartfelt thoughts about his former partner and the family they once built together.

The actor explained that although he and Ynez have long been separated, the bond they formed over 17 years did not simply vanish.

Mon also recalled how he continues to support Princess Kayla, Ynez’s daughter from a previous relationship. Over the years, a video of him taking care of the young lady went viral, earning praise from netizens.

According to the celebrity, his support goes beyond providing needs. He shared that he gives constant moral guidance, especially when Princess Kayla faces bullying.

He said he often reminds her to stay strong, pray, and believe in herself despite harsh words from others. For Mon, emotional support is just as important as physical presence.

“Sabi ko nga, nasa tabi mo lang ako palagi, lagi kitang dadamayan kahit ano pa 'yan. Basta, yung daddy mo nasa side mo lang palagi.”

Because of their comfortable relationship today, Mon jokingly teases Ynez by saying he might still be her “karma.” He clarified that it is said in jest, but it reflects how close and relaxed they remain with each other.

When asked directly if he still loves Ynez, Mon answered without hesitation. He said that love like theirs does not disappear, especially after sharing 17 meaningful years.

“Hindi mawawala yun. Imagine, nakasama mo yung tao nang maganda ng 17 years. Kahit nga mag-asawa, kapag nahiwalay yun, puro galit na lang. Hindi mawawala ang pagmahahal ko kay Ynez hanggan kamatayan.”
