Derek Ramsay has opened up about his mindset when it comes to online bashing, making it clear that hurtful words no longer hold power over him.

In a recent interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the actor candidly shared how years in the spotlight taught him to handle criticism with calm and perspective.

He admitted that bashing is part of being a public figure.

Over time, he learned that reacting to every negative comment only drains energy.

“It comes with the territory you know? My advice on this is, if you don’t know these people, why let it affect you? For me, it’s the people that you love, it’s the people you are close to, what they believe of you is what’s important. And what you believe of yourself. So all that noise is just noise. In one ear and out the other. Sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me. Is it painful? Is it hard? Yeah, I guess. But at the end of the day, before I go to bed, I tell myself: this is just all noise,” he stated.

According to the celebrity dad, age and experience played a huge role in shaping his outlook.

The actor believes words only hurt if you allow them to. With that mindset, he chooses to protect his peace.

He also emphasized the importance of priorities. He said that real-life responsibilities matter far more than online noise.

Derek Ramsay and Ellen Adarna’s whirlwind romance began in early 2021, leading to a beautiful wedding in Bataan in November of that same year. They welcomed their daughter, Liana, in October 2024. However, by late 2025, rumors of a split began to circulate when Ellen dropped "Ramsay" from her social media profiles.
