The health scare began right before Christmas, which Sunshine described as a very taxing time for their household.

“Iniisip ko kung ipopost ko ito or hindi pero gusto ko din maging aware ang ibang parents. Nagkaroon sila ng HFMD (Hand, Foot Mouth Disease) buti na lang vacation na nung lumabas, family na lang kasama at sila na lang ang kids,” she shared.

According to their pediatrician, the children likely contracted the virus two weeks before the symptoms actually became visible.

What surprised Sunshine the most was how the children got sick, considering their family is very careful with hygiene. She noted that only one of her children attends school, and they only visit play areas once a week during family days.

“Saan nila nakuha? Hindi din namin alam... Sobrang arte namin pagdating sa kanila pero minsan hindi talaga maiiwasan,” she added.

Because of this, she has decided to avoid public play areas for the time being, noting that these facilities are not always disinfected immediately after use.

Sunshine also took the opportunity to give sound advice to fellow "Mommies and Daddies." She urged them to check their children for rashes or sores on the soles of their feet, hands, and inside the mouth or throat. “Wag muna ilabas ang mga kiddos hanggat di natutuyo ang mga sugat nila, para di na muna din makahawa ng iba,” she reminded her followers.
