Speaking on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Tuesday, she explained.
“Sabi mo nga, you cannot please everybody, right? Lalo na nga ‘pag nagbasa ka ng mga comment. Minsan may mga… parang akala nila, ako na yata talaga si Hazel. Talagang galit talaga sila sa 'kin. Pero, Tito Boy, pinakapalakpak ko ‘yun. Ang ibig lang sabihin nu’n, siguro naggagawa ko nang tama ‘yung aking trabaho.”
Reyes admitted that some viewers’ reactions to her villainous role go beyond typical frustration.

She recalled, “Tito Boy, parang may death threat na eh. Oo, umabot na ‘yung gano’n, wini-wish nila talagang ma-tegi ako sa totoong buhay. Talagang sinasapuso nila ‘yung kasamaang ginagawa ni Hazel Cruz.”
Even so, Gladys maintains a positive perspective, appreciating both the praise and criticism that come her way.
She explained, “Pero siyempre po, ako natatawa. Pero, ‘di ba, ang mga netizen ngayon parang may direct access sila sa 'yo, na nakakarating sa'yo [kung] ano ‘yung mga sinasabi. I appreciate all your comments, good or bad, ganiyan. Siyempre mas kinikilig kami, ‘pag good ‘yan.”
"Cruz vs. Cruz" airs on GMA Network at 3:20 p.m. from Monday to Friday and at 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The series also stars Vina Morales as Felma, a rival to Gladys’ character, and Neil Ryan Sese.
Aside from the series, Reyes is set to appear in the upcoming film "The Heart of Music," which will premiere in theaters on December 10.
Her continued work showcases her versatility and dedication to bringing compelling characters to life.
Gladys Reyes is best known for her breakout role as “Clara” in the hit drama series Mara Clara, where she starred alongside Judy Ann Santos. She is married to Christopher Roxas, and together they are raising four children.
About seven months ago, Gladys posted a video on social media featuring a scene she shared with the late Jaclyn Jose in the series Toda One I Love. She expressed how much she enjoyed working with Jaclyn, whom she fondly called Ate Jane. Gladys said her Ate Jane was “indeed funny on and off” the camera, noting that they often understood each other’s cues with just a glance. She also praised Jaclyn’s “punchlines, timing, and facial expressions,” saying these were among the many things she would always remember and miss about the acclaimed actress.
Around the same period, Gladys visited Jaclyn Jose’s wake to pay her final respects. She later shared touching photos and clips from the gathering on Instagram. Among those seen in her post were Andi Eigenmann, Philmar Alipayo, Coco Martin, Vice Ganda, Alden Richards, and ABS-CBN COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes. In her caption, Gladys wrote a heartfelt message honoring the people who came to show their love and support for the late veteran actress.
