"During the beginning of my whole separation, I kept asking the universe for signs just to know if I was doing the right thing," she wrote.

Amidst this emotional chaos, she received a message out of the blue from Paras, a recipient of the prestigious CCP 13 Artists Award.

He told her he had a gift he wanted to send over—completely unaware of the personal storm she was weathering.

When the artwork arrived, the impact was visceral. The piece featured a portrait of a woman, with the scrambled letters of the word "Malaya" inscribed upon it. For Ellen, the message couldn't have been clearer.

"Then this arrived," she shared, showcasing the painting. "I cried. That was the sign. Malaya."

The emotional weight of the moment rippled through her entire household. Describing the scene, Ellen translated the intensity of their collective reaction: "It was overwhelming; we all wept, even my nannies. We all had goosebumps."
