Herlene Budol is keeping her options open when it comes to returning to the world of beauty pageants—just not without the right motivation.

Speaking on the podcast “I-Listen with Kara David,” the actress and former beauty queen admitted she is happy focusing on her television career, but a major prize could still entice her back onstage.

“Masaya na po ako sa pag-artista. Pero siyempre, sumali ako ng pag-pageant po dati, kasi may kapalit na bahay at lupa. Eh kung may offer ulit na bahay at lupa, eh ‘di sasali ulit po ako,” she said, recalling the practical reasons that once pushed her to compete.

Herlene reflected on the personal growth she experienced during her pageant journey, sharing that she became “more feminine” and found fulfillment in inspiring young people who doubted their own chances.

She pointed out that her success was made possible through the support of others who believed in her even when resources were limited.

She also extended her gratitude to former talent manager Wilbert Tolentino, acknowledging his role in guiding her both in pageants and in entering television.

“So, Sir Wilbert ‘yung sa akin,” she said, adding that several people helped her rise to where she is now.

Kara David commended Herlene for her work ethic and determination, praising her heart and intelligence.

Herlene then revealed that she is continuing her studies but is keeping the details private for the time being.

“Secret. ‘Pag nagka-diploma ako, po-post ko na lang,” she said.

For Herlene, the opportunities given to her are not something to waste. She said she has always grabbed every chance, especially when it benefits her family, and hopes to pay it forward someday.

Herlene was crowned Miss Philippines Tourism at the Miss Grand International 2024 and previously placed as first runner-up in Binibining Pilipinas 2022.

Herlene Budol, also known as 'Hipon Girl', is an actress, comedian, and social media star who broke through in showbiz as a contestant on “Wowowin” and later became a host. Herlene was first runner-up and won several minor awards at the 2022 Binibining Pilipinas pageant. She was also crowned as Miss Philippines Tourism 2023 in the recent Miss Grand Philippines pageant. Herlene played the lead role in Kapuso shows "Magandang Dilag" and "Binibining Marikit."

In a previous report by KAMI, Herlene Budol admitted she sought professional help to move on from the 2023 controversial issues involving her and “Magandang Dilag” co-stars, Rob Gomez and Bianca Manalo. During the press conference of “Binibining Marikit,” she revealed that she went through a series of psychological therapy to help her move on. It can be recalled the controversy stemmed from the alleged exchange of messages between her and Rob, as well as messages between the latter and Bianca. The actress said she has put everything behind her and is now focused on making herself better as a person and as an actress.
