Gordon issued his own message online, describing her as “a devoted and iconic volunteer whose life was defined by compassion and unwavering service.”

His homage highlighted Rosal’s commitment to humanitarian work, which ran parallel to her successful film career.

Rosal—born Florence Lansang Danon—was confirmed dead by family members to sources, though her relatives have yet to issue an official statement. Reports indicate that she was confined in a hospital at the time of her death.

Her contributions to Philippine cinema were substantial, starring in classics such as “Anak Dalita” (1956), “Badjao” (1957), and “Biyaya ng Lupa” (1959). Her performance in “Sonny Boy” (1955) earned her the prestigious FAMAS Best Actress award.

Beyond acting, she received major humanitarian recognitions, including the Ramon Magsaysay Award and the Order of the Golden Heart. She had been part of the PNRC Board of Governors since 1965.

Details regarding her wake have yet to be announced. Just last October, FAMAS publicly apologized for an earlier erroneous post about her supposed passing, which it later retracted.
