As part of Regal Entertainment’s Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Evil Origins", the actress shared her excitement about finally joining a project she has long dreamed of being part of.
She said it had always been on her “bucket list” and admitted she couldn’t contain her joy when she learned she was officially included in the cast.
“Sabi ko nga kay mama, ‘Mama, grabe, kahit dumaan lang ako sa film, okay na,’” she shared, calling the experience iconic and deeply meaningful.

During the film’s press conference, Ysabel also opened up about a path she once thought she would take—pursuing law.
After graduating with a Political Economy degree from the University of Asia and the Pacific in 2021, she enrolled in law school, thinking her then-ongoing TV project was about to end.
But unexpected extensions, taping schedules, and promotional activities made it nearly impossible to keep up.
Missing even a single day in law school, she said, created too much backlog. “So sabi ko, baka hindi meant (to be),” she added.
Reflecting on her decision to fully embrace showbiz, Ysabel said she has no lingering doubts.
She joked that her abandoned law school dream has become a “ghost” of her past, one she’s happy to leave behind as she enters a new creative phase.
After years of balancing studies and acting, she now welcomes the chance to focus solely on her career, saying she feels fulfilled without having to plan a fallback path.
Ysabel is the daughter of action star Lito Lapid and singer Michelle Ortega. Her stepfather is PDEA deputy director-general Gregorio Pimentel. Lito is now married to Marissa Tadeo, with whom he has four children with. As for Ysabel, she became more popular after appearing in the teleserye “Araw Gabi” with Barbie Imperial and JM de Guzman.
In a previous report by KAMI, Ysabel Ortega happily shared some photos and videos highlighting the grand opening of her bakeshop. She posted them on her Instagram feed with a caption that reads, "This bakeshop has been a dream of mine ever since I was little." The Kapuso actress received touching messages from her followers. Some celebrities also congratulated her, including Rayver Cruz and many others.
Earlier, Ysabel Ortega’s face took on an incredulous look on seeing her ‘lato-lato’ break down in the hands of her “Voltes V: Legacy” co-star Miguel Tanfelix. In a video shared by GMA Network, the actor was seen fiddling with the said toy and then started playing with it. To everyone’s surprise, something happened that caused Ysabel to give Miguel a sharp look while the latter gave her a sheepish smile. As the actor tried to fix the toy, Ysabel continued to give him a sharp stare to the amusement of netizens.
