South Korean filmmaker Shin Sung Hoon has died at the age of 40.

Reports from Korean media confirmed that he was found lifeless at his home last May.

An acquaintance who could not reach him decided to visit and discovered him collapsed, then quickly called the police.

Shin started his career in 2003 as a member of the boy group Max.

Later, he joined the male duo Fly-M and also tried his hand at acting.

Eventually, he decided to focus on filmmaking and studied both screenwriting and directing.

His debut short film, JajangMyeon Thank You, earned several awards, including Best Director and Best Film at different film festivals.

Another one of his notable works, God’s Choice, won Best Director in Brazil.

At the time of his death, Shin was finishing his latest project, Juvenile Offenders 2, which is now in its final post-production stage.

The film is expected to be released later this year, marking his last contribution to the Korean film industry.

They attract millions of viewers not just in Asia but also in the United States, Europe, and Latin America.

Many fans are drawn to their emotional storytelling, strong acting, and high production quality.
