Known among friends as someone who constantly encourages others to save, Vice continues to remind the "Madlang Pipol" of the importance of managing money wisely, especially during difficult times.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the “Unkabogable Superstar” shared that his frugality stems from his upbringing.

“Hindi talaga ako magastos kaya ako nakakaipon. ‘Yung pamilya ko, hindi rin magastos,” he said.

He explained that the habit started early.

“Ever since kasi ‘yun na ang discipline sa amin. ‘Yung allowance namin, ‘yun na ‘yung allowance namin for the entire month. Kailangang ma-budget namin ‘yung kanya-kanya naming allowance,” he recalled.

Vice added that fear of hardship drives him to save diligently.

“So nung kumikita na ako, sobrang tipid ko kaya ako nakaipon. Takot na takot kasi akong maghirap. So kung gumastos man ako ngayon, hindi siya malaking epekto sa savings ko,” he said.

The comedian admitted that while he occasionally indulges himself, he always ensures financial balance. Sharing a lighthearted anecdote,

Vice said, “Nag-Singapore ako… last minute, bili ako nang bili. Sabi nila, ‘Grabe. Sa isang araw, magkano ‘yung nagastos mo.’ Sabi ko, napagod naman ako ng isang linggo.”

Now earning “more than enough,” Vice said his spending habits reflect gratitude, not excess.

“Ang suwerte ko. I am earning more than enough. Kaya kong gumastos,” he humbly remarked.
