The demonstration, which drew thousands to the streets, was marked by both passionate calls for reform and questions about the absence of some high-profile figures.
“Nasaan daw si Kathryn Bernardo kahapon? Pati sina Piolo Pascual at Alden Richards? Ba’t wala daw sa rally. Una, hindi naman sapilitan ang agpunta doon, kung gusto lang. Pangalawa, may mga artistang bawal sa kanila ang lumahok sa anumang rally at dapat non-partisan sila. Or apolitical sila. Minsan naka-stipulate yan sa mga endorsement contracts nila. Kasi madedemanda sila o magpe-penalty sila pag nag-join sila. Kahit gustohin man nilang makiisa. Wag na kayo magalit. Alam nating lahat na galit din ang mga yan sa corrupt!” Diaz explained.

His post clarified that while some fans expected celebrities such as Kathryn Bernardo, Piolo Pascual, and Alden Richards to be present, artists often face contractual restrictions that prevent them from attending political gatherings.
Diaz emphasized that joining a protest is voluntary and not a requirement, especially when professional obligations limit personal freedom.
Supporters of Diaz’s statement noted that many celebrities, though absent physically, have shown their disapproval of corruption through other platforms.
Meanwhile, rally organizers highlighted that the heart of the protest lies in unity among ordinary citizens, regardless of who is present.
The Sept. 21 protest marked the anniversary of Martial Law, with thousands calling for transparency and accountability.
Despite isolated clashes, most of the day’s activities remained peaceful, underscoring the continuing public demand for systemic change.
Ogie Diaz recently marked the 24th birthday of his daughter Erin with a Facebook post that mixed humor and heartfelt sentiments. Ogie also highlighted Erin’s maturity in handling online criticism, noting her unbothered attitude toward bashers. He ended his post by assuring Erin of his full support for her dreams while praising her latest pictorial with Envi Skin Beauty & Wellness.
Earlier, Ogie Diaz has explained why he has stopped doing blind items on his online show, Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update. He said that while blind items are entertaining, they often create awkward situations and put his personal relationships at risk. The inquiries from friends and acquaintances about the identities behind the stories sometimes lead to misunderstandings or strained friendships. To avoid conflict and protect his friendships, Ogie has decided to temporarily stop sharing blind items, even if he knows juicy details about certain celebrities.
