The legal representatives of Journey frontman Arnel Pineda have issued a statement to clear the air regarding a bench warrant recently issued against the singer, Rappler reported.

Rumors had spread that Branch 99 of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) ordered Pineda’s arrest over a case filed by his wife, Cherry.
His counsel, Chavez Miranda Aseoche Law Offices, explained that the warrant was procedural and not an indication that he committed a crime.
“Mr. Pineda was required to appear, but at the time, he was confined in the hospital and could not attend. When the arraignment was later rescheduled, he remained unable to appear. For this reason, the court issued a bench warrant to compel his attendance,” his lawyers clarified.

The camp also stressed that the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) case Cherry lodged against the 58-year-old vocalist was a reaction to his earlier legal actions.
Pineda had filed two adultery complaints against his wife after allegedly catching her with another man at a Baguio City hotel in 2023. He reportedly secured video evidence of the incident.
Private investigators also informed him that Cherry and the man were occupying a unit in a building he owns in Quezon City, which was allegedly being used as a “love nest.”
Currently, both adultery cases filed by Pineda are pending in separate courts—Branch 34 of the Metropolitan Trial Court in Quezon City and Branch 3 of the Municipal Trial Court in Baguio City—while his wife’s VAWC case continues to proceed.
Arnel Pineda is a Pinoy singer and songwriter, best known as the frontman of the world-famous rock band, Journey. He rose to prominence in the Philippine music circle in the 80s, with his fame skyrocketing after Journey made him their frontman. He has been with the American rock band since 2007 and has been performing with them in various US and international tours.
Earlier, a video of the performance Arnel Pineda during a concert of Journey in Rio, Brazil has gone viral. The video clip was shared by the page "Behind the Songs." In the clip, Arnel was struggling to reach high notes in the song. His video has been shared many times, and it elicited a lot of reactions from netizens.
Subsequently, Arnel issued a statement on Facebook, and offered to leave the rock band “Journey” after video of his performance in “Rock in Rio” in Brazil surfaced online. It can be recalled that the page “Behind the Songs” posted a video of Arnel where he struggled with the high notes of the song “Don’t Stop Believing.” The singer, subsequently, issued a statement addressing the said video and acknowledged he wasn’t able to perform well during that particular event. He then made an offer to everyone for them to vote so he can make the proper decision.
