Bela Padilla, a known Filipina actress and director, recently revealed in an interview with journalist Karen Davila that she cried hard following her breakup with Norman Bay. The actress, who had been living in London for some time, shared that their separation was the result of a mature and heartfelt conversation that ultimately came down to life choices and priorities.
Recalling what had happened, Bela admitted that it all began when she decided to move back to the Philippines. "I think it was really the reality of me moving back here. We had a talk, like it was a very mature conversation. We spoke about my moving back here, and I asked him, 'What are your plans for the next five years, the next ten years? Do you see yourself moving here also?' And at that time when we first had that conversation, he very bluntly said no," she told Karen.

Bela explained that despite the situation, she had nothing but respect for Norman's honesty.
She emphasized that she also understood his perspective, given that he has an established life and career in London. "I super respected that because I am the same too. If he asked me back then, 'If I ask you right now to get married so you would stay, would you say yes?' I would've also said no. So I feel like we both knew where we had to be, and he has such a beautiful career also in London, he has such a good job," she said, saying she would've done the same thing too.

However, while the breakup was handled with maturity and respect, Bela admitted that the pain afterward was real, "I cried a lot. I just saw something recently na parang the first one who speaks up bleeds first. Parang the first one who sees that it's over bleeds first, and that's true because I was the one who had to bring up the conversation so I guess I was in pain way before he was."
At one point, she reflected on whether Norman had also realized the relationship had reached its end. "I don't know if he saw it too and he just didn't wanna speak up or he didn't wanna say anything, but I had to be the bigger person I guess, and bring up the conversation," Bela added.
Despite their breakup, Bela did reveal that she and Norman are friends and still talk to each other.
