On Friday, August 22, Kris took to Instagram to upload a reel that featured snippets from her hospital confinement. In her post, she revealed that she had asked her doctors to perform her surgical procedures before August 21. "We started on August 20, 8:15 PM, that was the time check I heard before 'Daddy Doc,' my anesthesiologist and my cousin in law, Dr. Nick (he's an interventional cardiologist) started their work," she shared.
Kris then recalled her late mother, Cory Aquino, and how much she endured during her own health struggles. "While writing this, happy tears are flowing because I'm remembering how much our mom endured for us, she also had a port-a-cath surgically inplanted, yet we never heard her complain, and she didn't have a pain management doctor," Kris wrote.

Her message also highlighted the role her sons, Joshua and Bimby, play in her strength to keep going, "My sons are the reason I continue to endure, if I wasn't their mama, matagal na po akong sumuko. It's very difficult to be as brave as my dad and my mom because I know this is just the beginning of more aggressive treatment to keep me alive and get me to a point of remission."
According to Kris, her doctors now have six new months to determine the next steps in her treatment plan. Despite the challenges, she ended her note with gratitude and a renewed sense of hope, introducing a new hashtag for her supporters.
