The CWC also released a statement, saying that Liza’s story reflects the sad reality many Filipino children face — growing up in unstable and unsafe environments, often harmed by those who are supposed to care for them.

They stressed that no child should suffer physically, emotionally, or mentally, and reminded the public of the urgent need to strengthen child protection systems so every child can grow up in a safe and supportive environment.

Dumlao also mentioned the Parent Effectiveness Service (PES), a program that guides parents on how to better care for their children.

The DSWD continues to manage the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps), which includes Family Development Sessions aimed at helping families build stronger homes.

The agency further reminded the public that the MAKABATA Helpline 1383 is always open for reports of child abuse, neglect, or discrimination.
