Liza Soberano, a Filipina actress, has stirred a huge online buzz after courageously opening up about her dark past and childhood, sharing how she managed to survive those difficult years.

Recently, Liza was featured in Sarah Bahbah's Can I Come In? on YouTube, described as "a podcast-cinema-documentary hybrid." In the 56-minute video, she tearfully recounted her early life struggles, including the time she and her brother, Justin, were sent to the Philippines when she was just 10 years old, one that she had "strongly opposed" which stunned many viewers.

"My grandparents faced like a very bad financial setback," Liza recalled, explaining how her grandmother had to quit work to care for her husband. "My grandma had to quit her job because she had to take care of my grandpa, and because of that, they made the decision to send me and my brother to the Philippines to meet our dad for the first time, and I strongly opposed to this."

Opening up about her reluctance, Liza admitted that she did not like her father, "I didn't like my dad at all. I didn't grow up with him. I knew of him, I would talk to him on the phone from time to time, but I wasn't... I could never imagine myself going to the Philippines and living with him."

She further revealed the emotional discomfort she felt during that period. "It was so uncomfortable because he demanded so much from me as a daughter that I feel was like unmerited because he wasn't around," the actress explained in the raw video on YouTube.
