Pia Wurtzbach named OWWA ambassador, strengthens support for OFWs

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has officially named Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach as its newest ambassador, entrusting her to represent and connect with overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) around the world.

As part of her role, Wurtzbach recently traveled to Saudi Arabia where she spent meaningful time with OFWs, sharing stories and listening to their experiences.
Currently residing in Dubai with her husband, travel entrepreneur Jeremy Jauncey, Pia expressed her enthusiasm in serving fellow Filipinos abroad.
In addition to her OWWA duties, Pia continues her advocacy work in health and wellness as a long-time supporter of the HIV awareness group LoveYourself.

OWWA has been promoting its e-card through Wurtzbach, encouraging OFWs to avail of the card’s benefits and services.

Since claiming the Miss Universe title in 2015, Pia has remained active in various charitable causes, championing women’s rights, health initiatives, and environmental awareness.
In 2024, she auctioned off several personal memorabilia from her pageant journey, raising funds to support the establishment of LoveYourself’s youth center.
