The celebrity mom took to Instagram to post two photos documenting the experience and to explain the reason behind the sedation, giving more context about being sedated for the first time.

In her Instagram story, Iya shared a selfie taken while lying in a hospital bed in a gown, expressing her surprise and even amusement due to being sedated for a medical procedure: "First time to be sedated and it was AMAZING! I was knocked out before I even counted to 20!"

Despite her cheerful tone, Iya admitted that she had initial concerns about the experience. "I was nervous cause I've never been sedated but this will make it less nakakapraning for future procedures that need this," she told her fans and followers on the app. Later, she shared a second photo with her husband, TV host Drew Arellano, who was also dressed in a hospital gown.

Iya eventually revealed that the procedure was a colonoscopy, which she underwent as part of their annual health check. "Relax, guys. Just a colonoscopy. [I] was just nervous about being sedated as a first-timer," she said. While she clarified that the check was routine, she also noted that she had it done earlier than usual due to a lingering concern she had after giving birth..

"Just part of our annual check, although mine was an 'early' check since I'm not yet 45. But I wanted to have it done since I was getting [blood] in my [p*op] after delivery and I wanted to know why. I know, TMI," Iya explained, assuring that her next colonoscopy will be when she turns 45.
