Ara Davao shared the precious final moments she had with her late father, actor Ricky Davao.

In an interview with ABS-CBN, Ara also described her father as someone who loved to joke around and was always supportive of everything she did.

She mentioned that Ricky Davao wasn’t very expressive with words but showed his love through thoughtful acts of service.

Ara also referred to her father as a “stage father,” especially when she began her journey in the world of show business.

When asked what would be the things Davao wanted to be remembered for, Ara said her dad was so proud of her awards and the movies he was part of for over 40 years.

She said Davao was proud of all he did on stage, on television, and in movies.

"But I think, 'yung legacy talaga niya is the person he was. And like, I can see it right here ang dami niyang friends. Kahit hindi ko na sila kilala lahat, 'yung mga lumalapit 'Oh, my gosh! Your dad was so good to us. He never forgot us. Palagi siyang nandyan, life of the party, masayahin,'" Ara said.

Ara also shared that during their last precious moments together, she just kept on telling her dad, "Love you, Pa! Good night!"

According to her, during those moments, her father was still able to respond to her and will never forget those moments.

Ricky Davao, born Frederick Charles Caballes Davao on May 30, 1961, in Manila, was a well-known figure in Philippine entertainment. He began his career as a dancer before shifting to acting, where he became a familiar face in movies, television, and theater. Coming from a family of artists, he was the son of veteran actor Charlie Davao and the younger brother of Bing Davao. He was also once married to actress Jackie Lou Blanco, and they had three children together, including Arabella Davao, who also entered showbiz.

In a previous report by KAMI, Ricky Davao, a beloved veteran actor, passed away on May 1, 2025, at 63 years old, according to a Facebook post by the Daily Tribune. He had been diagnosed with a terminal illness in 2024, but the details were kept private. It can be recalled that Ricky was married to actress Jackie Lou Blanco, and they had three children: Kenneth, Arabella, and Rikki Mae. His final appearance was in the musical Silver Lining Redux, leaving a lasting mark on the industry.

Additionally, Ara Davao, late actor Ricky Davao's daughter with his ex-wife Jackie Lou Blanco, shared the reason for her father's death. On Instagram, Ara announced the passing of her father, and followed it with the cause of his death. She mentioned that after Davao bravely fought complications related to cancer, sadly, he succumbed to it on May 01, 2025. It can be recalled that back in 2024, Ricky Davao was diagnosed with a terminal illness, although it wasn't specified and kept confidential.
