As of 6:30 a.m., April 22, his family has yet to release an official statement.

However, his daughter, Chef Barni Alejandro, has acknowledged the outpouring of sympathy from friends and followers on Facebook since midnight.

One family friend expressed their grief in the comments, writing, “Heartfelt condolences, Barni Alejandro, such a great loss.”

Barni simply responded with, “Thank you.”

She also updated her Facebook cover photo, now showing a touching image of their family.

In another emotional post, Barni wrote, “I can’t fathom a life without you. My heart is broken into a million pieces. You were my first love, my hero, my idol. Forever, your Yabs!"

She accompanied her message with a video of herself singing part of Hajji’s beloved track, “Ang Lahat Ng Ito’y Para Sa’Yo.”

According to GMA News, Hajji was the father of singer Rachel Alejandro and Chef Barni from his first marriage. He also had a son, Ali Alejandro—drummer for Mojofly—with late beauty queen Rio Diaz, and another child named Michelle Alejandro.

The entertainment industry is mourning yet another profound loss this year, following the deaths of celebrated film figures Delia Razon, Gloria Romero, Pilita Corrales, and Nora Aunor.

Just last month, Hajji's partner of 27 years, Alynna Velasquez, shared that he was recuperating after being diagnosed with stage 4 colon c@ncer.

She remained hopeful during an interview with Julius Babao, expressing her belief that Hajji would eventually sing again following his surgery.

Still in other news, a 43-year-old rider of a motorcycle taxi was stabbed by the passenger who booked him for a ride. According to the report of Unang Balita of GMA Integrated News, the passenger was from Recto Ave. and asked the rider to bring him to the place where the stabbing incident happened. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds, and the incident happened in Quezon City around 5 a.m. A resident sought the help for the rider, and barangay personnel immediately brought him to the hospital.
