In a phone interview with entertainment host Ogie Diaz, uploaded to YouTube on April 9, Padilla lamented being left out of significant moments, especially not being allowed to walk Claudia down the aisle — a role taken by Marjorie, who walked proudly beside the bride in a magenta pink gown.

The incident appears to be the breaking point for Padilla, who declared he is cutting ties with his children.

“Ayoko na. Sabi nila, ako ‘yung toxic. Talaga ba (I can’t take it anymore. They said I’m the toxic one. Really)? A father who is longing [for] love [from his] children, especially if the father is going through three-fourths of his life. Do you call that toxic?” he said, defending himself against public criticism that painted him as a “toxic” and “narcissistic” parent.

Padilla insisted that he had made efforts both publicly and privately to mend ties with Claudia and her siblings Julia and Leon.

He also claimed to have reached out not only to his children but also to their respective partners, in hopes of restoring their strained relationships.

Still in Negros Occidental, a 53-year-old woman died and two others were injured after being hit by a pickup truck while jogging in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City. The incident occurred when the group of women briefly stopped their jog to take photographs, leading to the collision with the vehicle. The pickup truck driver, Fernando Oquina, stated that he did not see the women on the road prior to the collision. The family of the victim is determined to file a case.

Meanwhile in other news, a barangay chairman in Sta. Maria, Pangasinan died after he was shot but a still unknown gunman. According to the report of Balitanghali of GMA Integrated News, the victim was driving a tricycle. A man at the roadside then signaled for him to stop, and when he did, he was shot by the perpetrator. The gunman immediately fled the scene, but authorities already have a person of interest.
