Neri Naig, an actress and entrepreneur, finally broke her silence regarding her controversial arrest in November 2024, by the Southern Police District, which made headlines all over social media.
On Friday, March 21, 2025, in an emotional Instagram post, Neri shared a photo of herself during her detention, accompanied by a heartfelt message reflecting on the ordeal that she faced before.

"Hindi ko talaga inakala na mapapasama ako sa Most Wanted sa Pilipinas… Tinawag akong magnanakaw, manloloko, at scammer. Never naman akong nagtago. Palagi nga akong nasa palengke, sa mga talks, at kahit saan pa—I have always been visible, hindi lang sa social media," she wrote.
Neri acknowledged that many have been awaiting her side of the story but chose to keep details private for now, saying that the situation she was in last year was a huge nightmare for her.

"For now, let me just say this: It was a nightmare. Isang pagsubok at bangungot na hindi ko kailanman malilimutan. Sa kabila ng lahat—the labels, the ridicule, the judgment... I chose silence," she expressed.
She also addressed how some individuals took advantage of her situation, lamenting, "Some celebrated my lowest point, ginawa pa akong content para pagkakitaan. They judged me, questioned me, and discredited my hard work."
Despite the challenges, Neri expressed profound gratitude to those who supported her before.
"Sa lahat ng naniwala, sumuporta, at nagdasal para sa amin, maraming, maraming salamat po! To those who felt even the smallest impact of our kindness, thank you. You remind me that goodness still exists in the world," she concluded.
Neri's arrest in late 2024 stemmed from allegations of syndicated estafa and violations of the Securities Regulation Code, leading to her being detained at the Pasay City Jail Female Dormitory.
Following her arrest, her husband, Chito Miranda, released a lengthy statement about his wife.
"Kawawa naman yung asawa ko. Never nanloko si Neri, at never siya nanlamang sa kapwa. Never siyang kumuha or nanghingi ng pera kahit kanino man," the OPM singer claimed.

Neri Naig is a Filipino actress and entrepreneur. She first gained fame as a finalist in the first season of the reality talent search Star Circle Quest in 2004. She is also known for being the wife of Chito Miranda, the lead vocalist of the Filipino rock band, Parokya ni Edgar. She is often referred to as "Wais na Misis" because of her financial-savvy mindset and advocacy for financial literacy.
