Yilmaz Bektas, a Turkish businessman, recently took to Instagram to confirm circulating news about his personal life, even stating that he will be visiting the Philippines very soon as well.

While he did not specify which news he was referring to, it coincides with recent revelations from his ex-wife, Filipina actress Ruffa Gutierrez, who disclosed that he had proposed remarriage to her.

"For public opinion: regarding the news about me that has been published in the media recently, I would like to say, 'Yes, these news are true. I will be visiting the Philippines soon.' Yilmaz Bektas, with my best regards," wrote in a white-and-black text card on the famous photo-sharing app.

Previously, Ruffa shared that her ex-husband had expressed his desire to remarry her following their controversial split back in 2007, which genuinely stunned the actress upon hearing it.

"He couldn't find someone like me and kept searching all over the world. In fact, he wanted to propose and marry me again. I initially thought he was joking," the former beauty queen said.

According to Ruffa, Yilmaz even suggested a romantic train journey across Europe as well.

She recounted her initial reaction, thinking it was a joke, but Yilmaz was earnest in his proposal.

"Sabi ko, 'Is this a joke?' [Sabi ni Yilmaz], 'No, I want to invite you to be in a train with me' and mag-train daw kami all over Europe. So, sabi ko, 'Totoo ba 'to or baka he's planning my murder on the plane or train?'"

However, in the interview, Ruffa insisted she has no plans of rekindling their relationship at all.

The couple, who married in 2003 and separated in 2007, have two daughters, Lorin and Venice.

In recent years, their relationship has improved, with Ruffa's daughters even visiting their dad.

Back in June of 2022, videos of Lorin and Venice bonding with Yilmaz in Turkey went viral all over social media, delighting several fans of the famous actress over the reconciliation as well.
