Jam shared the story behind the scar during her Q&A session on Instagram Stories. She responded to a netizen who was curious about the scar.
The newbie endorser then opened up that she underwent heart surgery before and dubbed the scar her “battle scar.”
“That 8-inch scar is a symbol of my strength. I've been through heart surgery before, and battle scar ko yan but it is something I wear with pride,” she wrote along with a photo of the scar.

Jam went on to share what the scar has constantly been reminding her of.
“Constant reminder ko din every day that I survived, and nothing in life can keep me down. Life gave me a second chance, and though ang dami na din pinagdaanan along the way, it made me stronger naman. And, I'm still standing strong, fully aware and grounded in the reality of life.”
She continued, “Also has been my reminder to become aware of the value of time. Kasi it is something we can't get back. Every moment matters, and natutunan ko din to spend it on things and people that truly matter, kasi time is the one thing we'll never have enough of.”

Previously, Jamela unlocked a new milestone. Jam was chosen as the celebrity ambassador of Ampong Dental Essentials.
In a social media post on January 28, the dental clinic posted a photo showing Jamela’s billboard along EDSA.
Aside from Jam’s lovely portrait, the stunning billboard also displays a meaningful text that reads, “Every Smile Tells a Perfect Story.”
