Boxing icon and former Senator Manny Pacquiao has swiftly addressed an incident involving a member of his staff who was caught driving on the EDSA Busway over the weekend.

The staff member, part of Pacquiao's security detail, was reportedly driving a black Toyota van, leading two other vehicles, and using unauthorized blinkers and sirens when they were stopped by authorities on Sunday.
Paquiao, known for his disciplined approach both inside and outside the ring, expressed his disappointment and took immediate action in an ambush interview with the media.
“Ano po ang naging aksyon nyo dun Sir?” a reporter was heard asking the boxing legend and Senate-candidate.

“Inalis ko yung tao ko at pinagalitan ko at saka sinabi ko mali-mali yung ginawa ninyo, bakit nyo tinakasan yung law enforcer?” Pacquiao answered.
He emphasized his commitment to upholding the law, regardless of personal affiliation.
The boxing legend explained that he personally instructed the driver to return to the scene and face the consequences.
“At pinabalik ko dun, 'kunin nyo yung ticket, pa-ticket kayo dahil mali yung ginawa nyo',” the boxing legend recounted during the ambush interview. He made it clear that he does not condone such behavior and that accountability is paramount.
It can be recalled that personnel from the Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) flagged down two vehicles using the EDSA busway.

When asked by DOTr¬-SAICT personnel, they dropped the name of the boxing legend and former senator, with one passenger telling the traffic enforcers not to take video of him.
DOTr¬-SAICT later confirmed that the driver did return to apologize and receive citations for violating traffic regulations, including disregarding traffic signs and the illegal use of blinkers.
Near the end of the ambush interview, Pacquiao reiterated that he already fired members of his staff who got involved in the fiasco.
“Inalis ko na rito sa grupo ko... Bawal sa 'kin 'yun,” Pacquiao said.
Manny Pacquiao is an eight-division world boxing champion, considered one of the greatest boxers in history. He is married to Jinkee Pacquiao, whom he calls his best friend. Jinkee and the boxing legend have five children – Emmanuel Jr. (Jimuel), Michael Stephen, Mary Divine Grace (Princess), Queen Elizabeth (Queenie), and Israel.

In a previous post, the boxing legend took to social media to pen a heartfelt message to his better half, Jinkee, who turned a year older last January 13. In his message, Manny lauded Jinkee and expressed his prayer for her. He also shared a carousel of lovely photos showing his wife and their family.
