Andrea Brillantes, during the Star Magic Spotlight press conference, expressed her thoughts on how it was like to be beautiful, along with the ups and downs of possessing a truly attractive face.

In Inquirer's report, the actress highlighted how she used to face struggles when she was younger, especially in making friends.

She said that she was somehow isolated because of her looks and was even bullied, describing having that face card as a "curse."

“I feel like when you’re under the curse [of being beautiful], hindi mo mare-recognize that you are. Noong nursery to grade school, hirap akong magkaroon ng friends. Hirap ako makapili ng friends. Lagi nila akong binu-bully,” she recounted.

“Hindi ko talaga naramdaman na maganda ako. Hindi talaga ‘yun ang sinasabi sa’kin. Laging [pinaparamdam] sa’kin na hindi ako enough for them. Hindi ako makahanap ng [friend] community sa girls," she added.

She then narrated that she would instead make friends with boys, and would even go out of her way to be boyish.

However, she clarified that it was from a long time ago, when they were still young.

Now, she is friends with everyone.

Summing it up, she expressed her take about being pretty.

“I think that’s one of the curses of being pretty, merong maiinis and maiinggit sa’yo,” she said, reiterating also that she is friends with everyone in school already.
