Marco Gumabao recently took to the comments section of his post on Instagram and wrote a reply to a netizen who questioned his competence in political matters.

It can be recalled that Marco filed his Certificate Of Candidacy (COC) on October 1, expressing his intention to run as congressman for the 4th District of Camarines Sur.
He then posted on Instagram about his candidacy for the said position, along with a photo showing him together with girlfriend Cristine Reyes.
In the comments section below, a netizen asked Marco as regards his competency in political matters, saying that all the actor has is his capacity to run and perhaps win.

“Serious question though. What can you bring to the table? No background in politics. No proper education related to politics. Just because you can run and potentially win, gagawin mo,” the netizen asked.
Marco, in his reply, acknowledged the question as valid and then proceeded to give his reply.
“Your question is very valid and thank you for asking. I understand the stigma against actors running for politics na iniisip ng iba na di nila sineseryoso yung position na tinatakbo nila. And i’m here to break that 😊,” Marco said at the outset.
“At a young age I was exposed to public service already because I have family members who were public servants before. It has always been in my heart to use my platform to help people,” the actor added.
He then laid down in his reply his educational achievements, saying that possessing a good education is not the only thing he has but his genuine desire to help.
“With studies, I studied in Ateneo from prep to 4th yr then studied AB psych in DLSU. I’m currently taking up philippine governance, policy making and economics in UPNCPAG which i’m finishing this month,” he said.
“I’m not here to say that i’m the smartest or I know it all, but one thing is for sure, my work ethic is something i’m very proud of. Masipag ako lalo na pag gusto ko ang ginagawa ko, maayos ako maki tungo sa tao and above all, i genuinely wanna help. Thank you 🙏🏻,” Marco concluded in his post.
