Andrea del Rosario sa pagkakaroon ng rare disease ng anak: "Nakarma ba ako?"

Andrea del Rosario, a former actress, was interviewed by Karen Davila, where she opened up about her daughter, Bea, and the latter's rare disease.

During the interview, Andrea shared that her daughter has a condition called "jejunal atresia" and that she found out about it while she was still pregnant.

"It’s called jejunal atresia. Nalaman ko siya nung nasa loob siya. I was having this procedure done wherein diba, may picture sa loob, habang nasa loob siya. And then the technician told me, 'I think there’s something wrong with your baby,' because it was in America. He showed me an image and lo and behold parang may grape-like image on the ultrasound. That’s where it all started," she recounted.

According to Andrea, her daughter's intestines are, in layman's terms, "buhol-buhol" and that she was left with a "very short gut" after a procedure.

"In layman's term, buhol-buhol ang bituka niya. They had to cut a big portion of it and she was left with a very short gut that’s why she was also diagnosed with short gut syndrome," she revealed.

During the interview, Andrea confessed she blamed herself for her daughter's rare disease, and at one point, questioned God about it as well.

"I asked myself, Lord ano ba to? Nakarma ba ako? Is this something that you are doing to punish me? So I had all these questions. I was blaming myself. As a mother, you can’t help but blame yourself. Where did I go wrong?" she said.

Andrea del Rosario is a former actress who was a former member of the girl group, Viva Hot Babes, and the Batch 3 of Star Magic. She was also a former beauty queen, as she was the 4th Runner Up at the Miss Philippines Earth 2001.
