She also admitted having experienced being treated like a “hampaslupa” but said she didn’t take it too personally.
“I didn't take it too personally. There was like a hampaslupa approach, you take the hampas now and after rehearsals were over they would be nicer, they would be kinder,” she revealed.
As for Dolly, she said while she didn’t welcome an environment where there’s name calling, screaming, and insults being hurled back in forth, she said it somehow helped her become into the person she is today.
I won't welcome any environment where there's name calling, or screaming or insulting,” Dolly said.
“Pero that played a very big part in shaping us into the people we are today. I can't say that was the best method but it was the method that I went through and it made me strong,” she added.
Dolly then revealed some of the names she was called back then during her early days in the theater.
“I've been called boba, tonta, estupida, gaga, tanga, pangit, and I can say na despite the fact na masama yun, I can't say na pinagsisihan ko yun yung ng ginawa nila sa akin eh,” she said.
“Dahil dun it shaped me into the person that I am today and I think I'm really strong because of that and I'm really grateful to them for treating us like sh1t,” Dolly concluded.
Lea Salonga is an award-winning international singer and actress. She became known around the world when she got the role of 'Kim' in the musical Miss Saigon for which she won a Tony Award. She is also the first Asian woman to get this award. Lea is also known for being the singing voice of several Disney Princess characters, Jasmine and Mulan.

Meanwhile, in a previous post last year, Dolly posted a heartfelt message to Kathryn Bernardo, which subsequently stirred a buzz on the social media grapevine. It can be recalled that the two actresses play lead roles together in the new movie “A Very Good Girl.” In her message, Dolly thanked Kathryn for looking out for her and supporting her in other projects. She then said that there are many things that are good and great about their movie but there is one thing that for her is the best.
