Angelica Poquiz Yulo, humingi ng patawad sa pagpuna sa GF ni Caloy: “Nanay lang ako na nag-aalala”

- The Pinoy golden boy’s mom also expressed willingness to talk to her son in person

Angelica Yulo, in a recent press conference apologized to her son, Carlos Yulo, if the statements she made against his girlfriend hurt him.

She said she’s just a mother who worries about the welfare of her son.

“Kung mali man ang naging pagpuna ko sa nobya mo, humihingi ako ng patawad dahil nanay lang ako na nag-aalala,” Angelica said.

Mrs. Yulo asked forgiveness to the country for making statements during a recent interview.

She gave indication that she was a bit careless during those times, which perhaps was brought about by her lack of sleep because she stayed up late to watch her son compete.

As such, she wasn’t able to think about her answer when reporters who interviewed her fired away with their questions in succession.

“Humihingi ako ng patawad sa iyo at sa sambayanan sa mga nasabi ko sa interview,” the Pinoy golden boy’s mom said.

“Pagod at puyat ako sa kapapanood sa iyo noong mga panahon na iyon. Hindi makatulog sa tuwa kahit tapos na ang iyong laban. Hindi ako nakapag-isip nang mabuti nang nirapido ako ng mga tanong ng mga reporter tungkol sa bagay na dapat ay tayo na lamang ang nag-ayos. Patawad, anak,,” she said.

Mrs. Yulo also indicated that the doors in her house are always open in case Carlos wants to return to them.

“Matanda ka na, kaya mo nang magdesisyon para sa sarili mo. Bukas ang aming pintuan sa tahanan, kung may pera ka o wala, kung nanaisin mong bumalik sa amin,” Mrs. Yulo said.

Carlos Yulo is a Filipino artistic gymnast known for his exceptional skills and achievements in gymnastics. He gained international recognition for his performances in various competitions, particularly in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He won two gold medals in gymnastics' men's floor exercise and men's vault in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In another news, the Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation, through its chairman, Alejandro Tengco, announced that Carlos will receive a guaranteed total of P20 million cash incentive. In Manila Bulletin's report, he said that Caloy does not know yet that he will be receiving that incentive from the agency. Caloy is guaranteed by law to receive the incentive, and that will be coming from PAGCOR, as per reports.

It can be recalled that Carlos bagged his first gold for the Philippines at the Paris Olympics 2024. The Olympian ruled the men's floor exercises of the artistic gymnastics competition. This was followed by a second gold at the Men's Vault. Because of this, he is set to receive lavish rewards both in monetary and real estate form. He will receive a total cash prize of around P26,000,000 from the government, a house and lot, a condominium unit as pledged by a property developer, and over P30,000,000 in cash pledges from private entities.
