Carlos Yulo, the Pinoy golden boy who bagged who gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, issued a meaningful message for his mom in a recent video.

It can be recalled that an apparent conflict between Caloy, his GF, and his mom, came to light after an alleged old post about her supposedly rooting for a Japanese athlete surfaced online.

The controversy cast some shadow over the Pinoy’s huge win at the 2024 Olympics.

Recently, Caloy’s mom appeared in an interview debunking the allegations made against her online.

In response, the Pinoy athlete also issued his own statement addressing his mom in a recent video.

“May recent interview po kayo na kino-congratulate nyo po ako. Kung genuine po talaga kayo, Ma, maraming maraming salamat po,” Caloy said in the beginning of his recent video posted on Tiktok.

He then acknowledged the congratulatory message of his mom, though added that the alleged hurtful things she supposedly said in the past still flashes back to his memory.

“Ina-acknowledge ko po yung pagko-congratulate nyo po sa akin,” the Pinoy Olympic sensation said.

“Pero nagpa-flashback pa rin talaga yung mga masasakit nyong sinabi sa akin at yung mga hindi nyo pag wish well sa akin like, tumatatak po yun sa akin talaga,” Caloy said in the video.

He did not elaborate any further on what he claimed to have been the alleged hurtful things that his mother supposedly said in the past.

Carlos Yulo is a Filipino artistic gymnast known for his exceptional skills and achievements in gymnastics. He gained international recognition for his performances in various competitions, particularly in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He bagged two gold medals in gymnastics of the Philippines in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Earlier in the same video, Carlos also provided his reply to the statements made by her mom in a recent interview following his huge win in the 2024 Paris Olympics. the Pinoy Olympic sensation corrected his mom's statement, saying that the incentives she talked about was from 2022 and not 2021, adding that it wasn't just P70,000 pesos because as far as his recollection goes, it was a six-digit figure, having won two medals. He also said that when he went home, his mother did not tell him she already received the incentives from the World Championships and he wouldn't even know it has already arrived if he didn't ask about it.

In another interview, the 2024 Paris Olympics’ golden boy has acknowledged Cynthia Carrion as someone who acts in a parental role for him. Cynthia Carrion is the president of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines and has been helping Carlos with his needs during his training and actual competition. According to the golden boy, Cynthia would go at lengths, even to the point of picking up a fight with anyone, just so Caloy would get the support that he needs. Caloy also said that “Ma’am Cynthia” took on the role as a parent for him and truly believed in what he can do as an athlete.
