Maris Racal’s name was among those thanked by Rico Blanco in the description of the new video of the song “Kisapmata.”

“Kisapmata,” is one of the hit songs of the rock band Rivermaya during the mid-90s.

It is still being played by many radio stations and has become part of the repertoire of many cover bands in the Philippines.

In the official visualizer which was posted on the YouTube channel of Rico, the Rivermaya co-founder thanked his Rivermaya bandmate and co-founder Mark Escueta, his ex-GF Maris Racal, Marco Bachini, and Zild Benitez.

“Special Thanks: Mark Escueta (Guitar Amp) Maris Racal (Telecaster) Marco Bachini (Acoustic Guitar) Zild Benitez (12-string Guitar),” part of the description of the video reads.

The name of Maris shown as one of those being thanked by Rico stirred a buzz online, particularly so that the ex-couple broke up just a couple of weeks ago.

Their relationship lasted for five years. The news of their break up was revealed by Maris herself during a press conference.

Ironically, the song “Kisapmata,” which means “in the blink of an eye in English, is a story of a couple who broke up for no apparent reason.
