Boss Toyo, rumesbak sa mga kumukuwestiyon sa pagdalo niya sa SONA 2024

- On his Facebook account, the social media personality shared a photo showing him posing for a selfie at the Batasang Pambansa

- In the fiery caption, Boss Toyo said he wonders why people are questioning his presence at the event

- The content creator said he just wanted to hear the President’s speech and he doesn’t see anything wrong with his attendance

Boss Toyo, clad in an embroidered Barong Tagalog, attended the third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday, July 22 at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.

He then took to social media to pen a fiery message to those who questioned his presence at the event.

On his Facebook page, the content creator shared a selfie captured inside the Plenary Hall.

In the caption, Boss Toyo wrote his frank reaction to the criticisms he received after he was spotted at the SONA.

"Nagtataka ako bakit me mga taong nagkikuwestiyon bakit ako nasa SONA. Bakit bawal po ba ang isang content creator dito? Bawal po ba ang isang tulad ko dito? Bawal ba dahil hindi ako politiko? Bawal ba dahil 'di mataas ang antas ko sa lipunan?"

He went on to tell his detractors, "Masyado kayong nanghahamak ng tao.”

Furthermore, the social media personality said he just wanted to listen to the President’s speech because he is a Filipino who cares about the country.

"Gusto ko marinig kung ano ang sasabihin dahil isa akong Pilipino at me paki ako sa bayan ko. Wala ako nakikitang masama kung andito ako or kahit sinong tao andito. Pilipino ako at me paki ako sa bayan ko. Si toyo toh mah men."

Ferdinand "Bongbong" Romualdez Marcos Jr., also more popularly known as BBM or PBBM, is the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines. He also served as Governor of Ilocos Norte in 1983, holding that office until the ouster of his father, President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. In 1998, he was elected again as Governor of Ilocos Norte and served for three terms and later ran and won a seat in the Philippine Senate during the 2010 elections. He served as Philippine Senator until 2016. He ran for Vice-President during the 2016 elections but was unsuccessful and in 2022, he ran for president and won with a landslide victory.

President Bongbong Marcos, in what many perceive as a bold and popular move, has declared a total ban on all POGO operations. The president also ordered PAGCOR to wind down and cease the operations of POGOs by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte has declared several days ago that she would not attend the third SONA. She shared her decision in an ambush interview during the inauguration of the Child and Adolescent Neurodevelopmental Center in Davao City. The Vice President also named herself the "designated survivor."
