Maxene Magalona, in her latest interview, recalled how she got through life after her painful breakup with her ex-husband, Rob Mananquil.

"By praying. Praying for my ex-husband, praying for me, praying for the both of us so that we can let go of what was not meant for us," she said.

In Updated with Nelson Canlas, Maxene said when her marriage started to crumble, she had to slowly but surely accept that it was happening.

"Instead of resisting that, you have to turn to God and accept, this is what's happening right now, God, help me through it. Kumbaga, tanggapin na lang natin, wag na tayong mag-complain, and then let's accept that this is what God needs me to go through, so that I can be the person that he designed me to be," she said.

According to Maxene, staying in a toxic relationship and going through a breakup is painful, but that she chose the latter than stay somewhere painful.

"It will always be painful, going through a breakup and staying in a toxic relationship. So, what pain are you willing to go through? Both of it is painful. It's painful to go through the breakup and it's also painful to stay where you're not meant to stay. So, which one do you choose? I chose the first one. I chose the pain of going through the breakup," she said.

Previously, in a report done by ABS-CBN News, Maxene explained why she is pro-divorce.

Meanwhile, in an earlier report done by Inquirer, Maxene vowed to remain a good relationship with her former husband's family, despite the breakup.

Maxene Magalona is an actress and social media star in the Philippines. Her father is the late rap legend Francis Magalona. In May 2020, the actress revealed that she has been seeing a psychiatrist due to her mental illness. She used to be married to Rob Manquil, but they have already broken up and gone their separate ways. She is now busy being a yoga instructor and focusing on other worthwhile interests in life.

As previously reported by KAMI, Maxene Magalona shared a reflection on Instagram about the importance of forgiving oneself and others. She revealed that holding onto grudges can lead to prolonged suffering and negativity. Through meditation and self-reflection, she realized her anger stemmed from past mistakes and failures.
