Luis Manzano, sa gusto ng mommy niya na wala siyang line of 8 na grado: "Edi puro 75 binigay ko"

Luis Manzano, in an episode of his online talk show, “Luis Listens” where his featured guest was singer-actress Vina Morales, revealed that his mom, Vilma Santos, wanted him to focus on his studies, which is why he entered showbiz at a late age.

The TV host and actor added that he never was a child star, unlike many of his peers and colleagues in the Pinoy showbiz industry.

He also said that his mom asked him to put off working and just continue to focus on his studies as she doesn’t want to see a line of 8 grade.

“Ako gusto lang i-share Kaya never ako nag-child star, 'di ba, if you notice late na ko pumasok sa industriya,” Luis told Vina.

“Dahil sabi nga ng mommy ko, ‘Anak, you have to focus sa school muna,’ the TV host recalled his mom telling him.

“Sabi niya, ‘Anak, mamaya na ang trabaho, school muna, ayoko makakita ng kahit anong line of 8’, he said, quoting his mom.

Luis then humorously said that it was the reason why he got a 75-mark in all of his grades in school.

“Edi puro 75 binigay ko,” Luis humorously remarked.

Luis Manzano is a popular actor and TV host who works for the Kapamilya network. He is the son of showbiz legends Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano. He has also starred in several movies. The star is now married to actress, product endorser, YouTube vlogger, and model Jessy Mendiola. Luis and Jessy already have a child named Isabella Rose, who is also known as Baby Peanut.

In another interview on an earlier episode of "Luis Listens" where his featured guest was Cristine Reyes, Luis jokingly said he felt insulted by the latter. Earlier, the two were talking about why they call each other “Lags” and how they ended up doing that. Luis then said that it was because of a TV show that the two appeared in way back several years ago. When Cristine, however, recalled what she thought was the role of the actor in the said TV show, Luis pretended to be insulted and proceeded to jokingly tell the actress just that.

Meanwhile, Luis also jokingly called out a netizen through a reply to the comment of the latter. Earlier, Luis posted on a socmed platform some snippets of his interview with Cristine Reyes on another platform. A netizen then wrote a comment about looking for such interview on the platform where Luis said he posted the video of the interview. The TV host, however, jokingly indicated that the things the netizen said in her comment were all misses.
