In a recent interview on GMA’s “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” long-time couple EA Guzman and Shaira Diaz shared intimate details about their relationship, shedding light on their commitment to celibacy. Despite being together for 11 years and engaged since 2021, the couple revealed that they have chosen to abstain from sexual intimacy until marriage.

EA Guzman confessed to the challenges they faced during the first two years of their relationship, admitting to moments of struggle.

“First two years namin umiiyak ako sa kaniya. Ang hirap. To be honest ang hirap. Noong time na iyon parang hindi ko na kaya. Kasi siyempre 'di 'ba?“ EA shared.

He recounted how Shaira's steadfast resolve and words of encouragement strengthened his commitment. Quoting Shaira's poignant words, he shared, “‘Kung mahal mo talaga ako, hihintayin mo ako.’ Doon ako tinamaan."

Shaira Diaz elaborated on her decision, emphasizing her deep respect and commitment to honoring her family, especially her parents. She expressed her belief that abstaining from sexual intimacy until marriage is the greatest gift one can offer to their future spouse.

“Kasi ako po ino-honor ko po yung family ko, especially my mom and dad. Iyan po ang promise ko sa kanila talaga na kahit iwan niyo ako saan, ito buo-buo pa rin ako. Sabi nila iyon yung best gift na mabibigay mo sa asawa mo,” Shaira said.
