Lolit Solis, in a recent post on her Instagram account, echoed the call of Dingdong Dantes for Pinoys to watch movie entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival this Christmas.

She said this is one of the surefire ways to bring excitement and life back to the Philippine showbiz industry, as well as prompt many to create more movies.

“Sana nga Salve gaya ng panawagan ni Dingdong Dantes lumabas ang mga tao para manuod ng festival movies ngayon Pasko,” Manay Lolit said.

“Para mabalik excitement sa showbiz at marami ang ma engganyo na gumawa ng pelikula,” she added.

The veteran showbiz journalist underscored the importance of bringing back life to movies because failing to do so would totally weaken the showbiz industry.

“Dapat talaga mabalik sigla sa panunuod ng sine dahil kundi baka tuloy tuloy na manghina ang showbiz,” the columnist said.

She also said that Pinoy TV is also suffering because of the influx of platforms where people can watch shows and films.

“Pati nga rating ng mga TV shows dahil ang dami ng platform kung saan puwede manuod ang tao kaya kinatatamaran na ang TV,” Manay Lolit added.

The veteran columnist then revealed what experts have been saying about the showbiz industry, and at the same time expressed hope that the movie watching slump is only temporary.

“Sinasabi ng mga experts na ang showbiz ang pinaka matatag na business sa lahat kaya naniniwala kami na hindi mangyayari na mawawala ang showbiz,” she said.

“Seasonal lang siguro ang slump na nagaganap. Pagkatapos nito, balik sigla ulit. Kaya please, lumabas at manuod ng mga kasali sa festival, Pasko at mag enjoy tayong lahat para bongga,” Manay Lolit said.

In another Instagram post, the veteran showbiz columnist said the followers of the noontime show where her talent, Paolo Contis, is a host is substantial, which is why it would be okay even if its name is changed. The veteran showbiz columnist early on expressed her opinion regarding the issue between TAPE, Inc. and Tito, Vic, and Joey (TVJ) as regards the name “Eat Bulaga.” According to Manay Lolit, whatever name is placed in a show that feature TVJ, the name “Eat Bulaga” would immediately come to mind. She then said that since the version of “Eat Bulaga” that’s being hosted by Paolo under TAPE, Inc. already has its own following, they can always change its name and yet still have viewers.
