Alex Gonzaga could not help but shed tears as she looked back on the controversial 'icing smearing' incident she encountered this year.

It is worth recalling that back in January of 2023, Alex made headlines when a video of her smearing icing on a waiter's head went viral.

Following this news, in her latest interview with Toni Gonzaga, Alex shared how she felt whenever she met people after the incident.

"Yung nangyari sakin this year dun sa ano ko, birthday ko. Yung parang everytime na may mami-meet ako, sasabihin na parang, 'Ah mabait ka naman pala.' Sabi ko, 'Bakit kaya naging ganun yung connotation sa akin this year?'" she wondered.

Upon hearing this, Toni chimed in and said a lot of people already judged Alex over a small video clip that went viral all over social media.

"Ang daming nanghusga. Dahil lang nakita nila yung maliit na part na yun, nahusgahan na nila yung hanggang since birth mo na masama kang tao," Toni said.

According to Alex, there were a lot of times she wanted to defend herself but decided to be quiet amidst the controversy.

"Ang daming kwento na lumabas na gusto ko nang dipensahan yung sarili mo pero hindi mo na pwedeng dipensahan kasi yun na eh, yun na yung tingin sayo ng tao eh. Pag lumabas ka pa, defensive ka na. So sabi ko, pray ako ng pray kay Lord," she recalled.
