Actress Kaye Abad became a trending topic yesterday after a video of her in a supermarket surrounded by bodyguards went viral. After denying that she goes to the supermarket and malls with bodyguards, Kaye also released a TikTok video poking fun at the issue.

The TikTok clip shows Kaye getting food from a table during an event with waiters surrounding the table. Her husband, Paul Jake Castillo, then asked her in jest if those waiters were her bodyguards. Kaye laughingly replied that those were waiters, not bodyguards.

During her latest interview, DJ Jhai Ho proceeded to ask what the story was about her controversial 'bodyguard' video.

Kaye said the bodyguards weren't actually hers but from the supermarket. In the interview, Kaye clarified she rejected having bodyguards, but the supermarket insisted.

"I explained it on my social media na I did a collaboration with this supermarket. And then, so nagpadala sila ng bodyguard, the bodyguards work for the supermarket and then I told them na hindi ko na kailangan ng bodyguards kasi yun mga Cebuano sanay naman na sakin na nag-iikot-ikot lang ako sa mall mag-isa but then sabi nila, 'Sige lang ma'am' kasi inutos daw sa kanila so sabi ko, 'Ah okay.' So yung nag-viral, hindi po sa akin yung bodyguards na yun, sa supermarket po," she explained.

Kaye Abad is a veteran showbiz personality who already starred in many drama series including “Mula Sa Puso,” “Super Inggo,” and “Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan.” She got married to Paul Jake Castillo on December 9, 2016, at a ceremony in Castillo's hometown Cebu City. Kaye gave birth to their first son Joaquin on December 22, 2017. She then gave birth to their second son, Iñigo on September 2, 2021.
