This means that the controversial “drag queen” is no longer welcome to visit the “Queen City of the South.”

In a report by Cebu Daily News (CDN) Digital, the Cebu City Council, during its regular session yesterday, Wednesday, August 16, the city dads passed and approved a resolution declaring Pura “Persona Non Grata.”

According to the news, the resolution, which was authored by Councilor Pastor “Jun” Alcover, Jr., did not meet any objection from other council members.

In a previous report by CNN showed that the drag queen was also declared as a persona non grata in Laguna.

Aside from being declared as a persona non grata, a case was also filed against him by a group of Christian leaders for allegedly violating Art. 201 of the Revised Penal Code, Rappler reported.

Drag artists, like drag queen Pura Luka Vega, would usually wear clothing and makeup to imitate present or historical personalities to the point of exaggeration for entertainment. Drag queens would also often perform pre-planned acts with audience interaction.

Recently, the controversial drag queen took to Twitter and expressed his dismay over the sanctions imposed upon him. The drag queen was declared as a persona non grata by Manila and Bulacan. He said that he was being judged without people knowing him. Pura also encouraged everyone to tell him exactly what he did wrong saying that the intent of his performance was not even understood.

Previously in another post on the microblogging platform, Pura Luka Vega broke his silence amid the widespread bashings he has received after the video of his controversial performance at a party surfaced online. It can be recalled that the drag queen was seen in the video seemingly dressed to look like Jesus Christ. The rest of the partygoers were also seen jumping and dancing while singing to what sounded like a remixed version of a well-known church hymn. In his socmed post after the controversy broke out, Pura Luka Vega indicated it was not his intention to offend anyone.
