Jennylyn Mercado, in a recent interview with Nelson Canlas, has announced her showbiz comeback after a two-year hiatus.
During the interview, The Ultimate Star admitted that she felt like a newbie entering the world of showbiz for the very first time.
“Parang pakiramdam ko…parang baguhang artista ako,” Jennylyn said during the interview.

She then expressed apprehension she might find it difficult now to act in front of the camera.

“Pakiramdam ko hindi na ako marunong umarte,” The Ultimate Star said.
“Pakiramdam ko hindi na ako marunong. Parang nahihiya ako ganu’n, tapos hindi ko ma-memorize ‘yung script ko,” she added.
Jennylyn said that this might be due to the fact that she lacked practice, adding that she used to act oftentimes in the past.
“Nawala ‘yung practice, kasi palagi ko siyang ginagawa noon,” she said.
“Hindi rin ako halos nagpapahinga, so mas confident ako na gawin ‘yung mga eksena, name-memorize ko,” Jennylyn added.
The Ultimate Star said that now, her brain felt like that of a baby and needed to see the sequences at least a day before the taping
“Ngayon parang baby brain pa, ‘yung hindi ko pa agad makabisado so kailangan ko ng time talaga na, kunwari ‘yung day ng before ng taping, kailangan kong makita ang sequences para prepared ako the next day,” Jennylyn said.

It can be recalled that The Ultimate Star decided to take some time off the showbiz industry when she learned that she’s pregnant in 2021.
Jennylyn Mercado is an actress, singer, songwriter, host, and commercial model from the Philippines. She entered show business when she participated in GMA Network's reality talent competition, StarStruck, and subsequently won. She is now married to her fellow Kapuso star, Dennis Trillo, a Pinoy actor, recording artist, and model. Dennis has appeared in several movies, such as Mano Po III: My Love, Mulawin: The Movie, Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love, You're Still the One, and many more.
