Herlene Budol’s answer in the question and answer portion of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant is making the rounds on social media.

She was asked by one of the judges, “What do you think is the most urgent problem among Filipino youth sector and how do you plan to address the issue?”

The “Magandang Dilag” star then mentioned that education is the most urgent problem among youth in the country.

“Para sa akin, ang pinakamalubhang problema ngayon ng mga kabataan ay ang edukasyon. Dahil ang kailangan ng mga kabataan ngayon ay ang edukasyon para mamulat sa kinabukasan.”

Herlene continued, “At naniniwala pa rin po ako sa kasabihan na ang kabataan ay ang pag-asa ng bayan. At para maging pangdayo tayo, taas noo dahil Pilipino tayo. Kagaya ko, maliit lang ang bansa ko pero ipinagmamalaki ko.”

The Kapuso actress also made the crowd cheer for her when she stated that her interpreter would translate her answer into English.

“I-English-in niya po,” she aired.

In the said pageant held at SM Mall of Asia Arena on July 13, Herlene was crowned the Miss Philippines Tourism 2023.

Herlene, also known as 'Hipon Girl', is an actress, comedian, and social media star who broke through in showbiz as a contestant on “Wowowin” and later became a host. Herlene was first runner-up and won several minor awards at the 2022 Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

Herlene created a huge buzz for bagging the Miss Philippines Tourism 2023 crown. She won the title during the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant held at SM Mall of Asia Arena on July 13. Nikki de Moura of Cagayan de Oro City was crowned Miss Grand Philippines 2023 at the said competition.

Earlier, Herlene admitted that she has been feeling extremely nervous about the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant. The beauty queen has also been anxious about the possibility of people criticizing her performance at the pageant. Amid all of the anxiety, Herlene expressed her appreciation for Wilbert Tolentino, her manager, who she described as her “Mima” who is always there for her. Herlene also thanked Madam Inutz for always giving her valuable pieces of advice.
