Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon, more popularly known as TVJ, filed a complaint in court against TAPE Inc. and GMA Network. According to a report by the Philippine Star, the complaint stemmed from the act of TAPE and GMA in replaying old episodes of “Eat Bulaga” without prior consent from the comic trio. The report also stated that the complaint against the two entities on June 30 of this year is “for copyright infringement and unfair competition.” The court has reportedly required TAPE and GMA to file their answer within 30 days.
In another news report by Abante, Tito Sotto also gave his reaction to the alleged plan of TAPE Inc., to hold a 44th anniversary celebration of “Eat Bulaga.” The report also mentioned the new hosts of GMA7’s noontime show planning on the program’s upcoming anniversary celebration. Abante also revealed that the TV host and former senator also sent a text message to the media addressing such plans. Tito then supposedly also bared TVJ’s and the “Legit Dabarkads’” plans to hold their own anniversary celebration.
