Joey De Leon wasn’t able to stop himself from getting emotional, and eventually crying, as he was giving a message to “Eat Bulaga” and TVJ followers during the launching of their new noontime show on TV5.

Their new show, which is simply called “EAT,” began airing last Saturday, July 1, 2023, on their new home network.
The comic trio became very emotional on seeing the immense support and love their followers accorded them on both online and free TV platforms.
On Joey’s Instagram page where he uploaded the video, he captioned his post with “Salamat, mahal nyo pa rin kami.”

He also assured Maine Mendoza, whom he calls Menggay, that there are still a lot of records that they can do together.
The one thing that made a mark, as Joey and Vic Sotto said, is the knowledge that they still love TVJ.
“Marami pang record Menggay ang pwede nating gawin ng magkakasama,” Joey said.
“Pero ang pinakamabigat na tumatak sa amin ay…” Joey further said but at this point, he started to become very emotional.
“Yung nalaman namin na…” Vic Sotto continued but also stopped mid-sentence.
“Na mahal nyo kami,” Tito Sotto completed the sentence, himself crying at the end of the message.
At this point, Vic said that they’re still waiting for their original name, “Eat Bulaga,” to also come home to them, indicating that there really is an ongoing legal battle for the trademark.
“Dabarkads, hinintay pa rin namin ang pag-uwi ng pangalang itinawag sa amin for almost 44 years,” Vic Sotto said.
"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Tape Inc.'s "Eat Bulaga" recently went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts, including Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya.
Recently, Joey took to Instagram and shared the total views that TVJ got on TV5. Based on the photo card that Master Henyo posted, they got more than 10M total views. Their peak live viewers on both Facebook and YouTube reached more than 500K. Joey was also very happy that while their current studio is their smallest, it is also where they got the biggest acceptance.
Still in relation to the opening of TVJ's new noontime show, a video of the floor director of the legit Dabarkads went viral. In the clip shared by MJ Marfori, Oreo could be seen crying. He was simply very emotional after he has ushered TVJ to the studio. Maja Salvador expressed her love for their loyal floor director in her tweet.
