TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga” FB at YT pages, naglahong parang bula; Paolo Contis, di natinag: “Di po kami hihinto”

- There was no explanation as to why the said pages were taken down, though in a recorded stream by a third party of the noontime show last June 20, Paolo had talked about their socmed accounts

- In the said recorded stream, Paolo apparently was unaware of the taking down of their socmed pages and only realized it near the end of the show, upon which he then gave his opinion about it

TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga” Facebook and YouTube pages have apparently been taken down from the said social media platforms.

In both platforms, a search for the phrase “Eat Bulaga” would show results of the program being hosted by TVJ and other third party streamers.

However, there is no result as regards the official pages of TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga,” and visiting their links would show the message “This content isn't available right now” or “This page isn't available.”

There was no explanation as to why the said pages were taken down, though in a recorded stream by a third party of the noontime show last June 20, Paolo acknowledged the taking down of their socmed pages.

In the said recorded stream shown on the channel of YouTube user Joshua Lagahan, TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga” hosts were apparently unaware that their socmed pages have been taken down.

Paolo, at the beginning of the show, was even inviting people to watch them on FB so they could win prizes.

Near the end of the show, however, Paolo and other hosts acknowledged that their socmed pages have been taken down and so gave his opinion about it.

“Hindi po kami hihinto sa pag-try na magkaroon ng Facebook page na ‘yan!” Paolo declared, unperturbed by the developments.

“Report lang kayo nang report, post lang kami nang post! Hanggang sa mapagod kayong mag-report,” he challenged netizens whom he suspected of mass reporting their pages.

Eat Bulaga is the longest-running noontime program in the world. Its hosts, including Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, Joey De Leon, Maine Mendoza, and others announced last May 31 that they are separating from TAPE Inc., the company that produces the show. It is not yet clear as of this writing if the hosts will take the Eat Bulaga title with them to another network or if TAPE Inc. will keep the iconic name.

During the June 16 episode of TAPE's "Eat Bulaga," Paolo was noticeably absent, though it became clear later that he took a sick leave. The show started with all the hosts onstage except for the actor. Former mayor Isko Moreno then asked if they noticed anyone among them. Everyone then said "Get well soon" Paolo, denoting that the actor was sick on that day.

Days before that, the actor pleaded with the people who are bashing the staff and crew of “Eat Bulaga” who remained with TAPE Inc. He urged those people to stop bashing those staff and crew because they are just trying to feed their families. The comedian also advised those people to just bash him and the celebrity hosts instead of picking on the staff and crew. He added that the people behind the camera are the real “Eat Bulaga.”
