Song Joong-ki and his British actress wife Katy Louise Saunders recently welcomed their first child.

The South Korean actor ecstatically announced the good news through his fan cafe, Soompi reported.

According to the "Descendants of the Sun" star, Katy gave birth to a healthy baby boy in Rome, Italy.

"Today, I came here to greet you because I have one more piece of news that feels like a dream, and I wanted to be the first to tell you."

"Right now, I'm in Italy. Here, in my wife's hometown of Rome, we happened to welcome our baby. It's a healthy son.. and both the baby and his mother… are in very good health. As we welcomed [our child] in good health and joy, I am taking care of my family very happily, with a grateful heart."

He went on and called their son their "most precious gift" and thanked their fans who have been supporting them.

"I think [our son] is the most precious gift to have found its way to us, a married couple whose biggest dream all our lives was to start a happy family."

As per AllKpop's report, the Korean superstar also shared a lovely photo along with the announcement.

It showed his child's adorable hand wrapped around his finger.

In a report by Manila Bulletin, Joong-ki revealed last January 30 that he and Katy registered their marriage with their first baby on the way.

Song Joong-Ki is a very prominent South Korean actor. Following the global success of television series "Descendants of the Sun", he became one of the most instantly recognizable and influential Korean actors to this date.

Last November, Dimples Romana stunned her followers after posting a photo with Song Joong-ki. The Filipina actress got to meet the South Korean superstar at the 50th International Emmy Awards in New York.
