This was the answer of the former legislator when he was asked about whether they intend to use the brand in their upcoming show on TV5.

“Yan ang nilalakad namin ngayon sapagkat naniniwala kami na ang history, ang kasaysayan, at ang mga batas, ay nakakampi sa amin,” Tito said.
“Kami'y sumasandal sa batas at sumasandal sa katotohanan at kasaysayan. Kaya alam namin na kami ang nagmamay-ari ng title ng ‘Eat Bulaga,’” the former senator further said.

He then revealed that it was Joey De Leon who came up with the name way back in 1979.

“Si Pareng Joey ang nag-imbento niyan nung 1979,” he revealed.

Tito Sen then expressed confidence that the right to use the brand would be awarded to them because of existing laws and jurisprudence.

“At ang mga batas at jurisprudence, whether dito sa Pilipinas o abroad, whether international. Ang jurisprudence, at the moment of creation, yung creator yung may ari,” the former legislator explained.

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. "Eat Bulaga" went back live on air with its new lineup of hosts.

Recently, former Sen. Tito Sotto granted an interview with Cristy Fermin on "Cristy Ferminute." The senator answered questions, which primarily revolved around the transfer of TVJ to TV5. Tito Sen then mentioned what Gretchen Ho said about being Kapatid and also Dabarkads. "Kapatid na, pang-Dabarkads pa," he mentioned happily.

Another question that the senator was asked during that particular episode of "Cristy Ferminute" was whether he watched the airing of the "new" EB. The senator, with a laugh, directly answered that he did not.
