On May 31, Tito, Vic, and Joey, or TVJ, who played the role as main hosts of the noontime show since its inception, suddenly announced their departure from TAPE, Inc., the producer of Eat Bulaga.
The comic trio said that they were there since the program started in 1979, though they indicated in their announcement that this is not the end of the show.
They didn’t say if it would only be them leaving or if the entire Eat Bulaga cast, along with the show’s iconic name, would be departing TAPE, Inc.
Their announcement also did not give any indication whether they would stay with GMA7 or would transfer to another network.
The announcement caught everyone by surprise, including GMA Network, who since then, has released their own statement on the matter, specifying that TAPE, Inc has a blocktime contract with them that will end in 2024.
